Konakov Igor
Born April 4, 1962 in the city of Mozdok, North Ossetia.
Graphic artist. In 1977 he graduated from the Mozdok children's art school, and in 1987 from the Krasnodar art school, faculty of art and technical graphics.
Participant of exhibitions since 1988. Member of the Saint Petersburg Union of artists (IFA) since 1996.
The artist's distinctive style was influenced by German expressionism and abstractionism, as well as by the St. Petersburg artist of the 60s and 80s. XX century Yevgeny Mikhnova-Voitenko, to whom he dedicated one of his exhibitions.
He worked in the technique of mototype, creating unique and inimitable prints of the work in a single copy. Among the famous masters who worked in this technique were Degas, Pissaro, Gauguin, Matisse, Vrubel, Chagall.
The artist's works are kept in the Russian Museum (Saint Petersburg), in private collections in the USA, Germany, Japan, Norway, Japan, Australia, Russia, and in the collections of the Noskin brothers. George Mikhailov and others. A large number of Konakov's works, written in the style of symbolic neo-modernism, were part of the collection of the legendary Foundation for Free Russian contemporary art – a non-profit creative Association of artists created in Munich in 1987 on the initiative of the exiled collector Georgy Mikhailov.
